Two of our most popular pieces are the Tokatoka and Maungaraho park benches — both handcrafted from solid macrocarpa, both built to last decades outdoors, and both named after two well-known Northland landmarks close to where River Rustics started out. If you’re trying to decide between them, here’s how they compare.

The Tokatoka Edition

The Tokatoka is our classic park bench design. It’s a timeless, straightforward slim shape that suits almost any setting — a feature piece in a garden bed, a spot on the deck, or a public seating area. It can also be personalised with an engraved plaque, which makes it a popular choice for memorial seating as well as everyday outdoor use.

If you want a bench that will suit pretty much any garden style without drawing too much attention to itself — classic, solid but sleek, and versatile — the Tokatoka is usually the right call.

The Maungaraho Edition

The Maungaraho is our other core park bench, built with the same solid macrocarpa construction and durability, with its own distinct look. It’s a great option if you want a bench with a bit more visual solid character as a garden feature, rather than a purely functional seat.
