Which pieces take engraving

All three of our most-ordered pieces can be laser engraved with a name, date or short message:

• Maungaraho park bench — a chunky build in 1.5m, 1.8m or 2.1m, often chosen for memorial and sponsorship plaques in public spaces. From $1,500.
• Tokatoka park bench — our classic bench in 1.2m, 1.5m or 1.8m, a good fit for a home garden memorial. From $1,200.
• Jack & Jill seat — a seat-and-table combination, 160 x 65 x 95cm, popular where two people will sit together. From $2,200.

The engraving is lasered directly into the macrocarpa rather than added as a separate metal plate, so it weathers as part of the timber rather than a fitting that can loosen or corrode over time.

What you can put on it

Most orders are a name, a date or date range, and a short line — a dedication, a role, or a few words about what the person meant to the group ordering it. We’ve done these for families, schools, sports clubs and councils. There’s no fixed template: you send through the wording you want, and we confirm layout and sizing with you before anything’s cut.

Ordering process and timeframes

Every bench is made to order, with production typically taking 3-6 weeks depending on the piece and finish, plus delivery time on top. Because engraving happens as part of the build rather than after, it doesn’t usually add extra time — but if you’re working to a specific date (an anniversary, a service, an unveiling), let us know upfront and we’ll plan around it. Frequently asked questions

How long does the engraved wording last?

It’s lasered into the macrocarpa itself, so it lasts as long as the timber does. Left untreated, the bench will weather to a silver-grey and the engraving stays legible; with a yearly oil coat, the bench holds its colour and the lettering stays sharper for longer.

Can I choose exactly where the engraving sits on the bench?

Yes — we confirm placement and layout with you before the engraving is cut, so you can see how it’ll sit on the backrest or seat before it’s final.

Do you deliver memorial benches outside Nelson Tasman?

Yes, we deliver nationwide throughout New Zealand, though local Nelson Tasman delivery is generally quicker. Contact us for a timeframe and cost to your location.
